My dear Father,

            I received the money order you sent for the month May. My college and hostel mates are very cooperative. I am well familiar with everything and everyone around me. Nothing seems strange. Even I have adjusted myself with hostel life, which was a grim experience for me in the beginning. Everything is running smooth except expenditures that are mounting continuously.

            Dad, there is an increase of seven hundred rupees in my hostel dues. Mess charges have reached to rupees 2000. Prices of necessary commodities are sky high. Transportation charges have mounted due to increase in the prices of fuel. I am to join an academy to make up my deficiency in mathematics. It will continue till the annual examination. Dad, I find it difficult to meet all these expenditures. I request you to send some extra allowances so that I could meet these expenses easily. I know this increase will put a strain to your budget. I assure you that next year I will try to find some part time job to reduce your burden.
